福克斯交易后续分析：国王与奇才的瓦兰丘纳斯交易评级解读

This trade is a follow-up to the moves that brought Fox to the Spurs and Lavine to the Kings, with both Sissoko and Denver's second-round picks coming from this three-team deal. More importantly, trading Huerter to Chicago allowed Sacramento to absorb Valanciunas' salary without worrying about luxury tax implications.
The decision not to utilize their cap space flexibility by taking on Tre Jones’ contract (which was sent along with Fox in his move) indicates that they believe strengthening their frontcourt is more critical than finding a replacement for Fox at traditional point guard. With Lavine, Monk, DeRozan, and rookie Devin Carter already in tow, there’s no shortage of ball handlers; however, depth behind them remains an issue as they lack sizable players off the bench.
\At 2.11 meters tall and weighing 120 kilograms, Valanciunas provides much-needed size.
Previously relying on Trey Lyles—who stands just 2.06 meters—as Sabonis' backup center has limited options since Lyles naturally plays power forward instead of center.
Not only can Valanciunas better contend against larger opponents but he also allows interim head coach Doug Christie greater flexibility within his rotations while affording Lyles increased playing time at his natural position. "While we typically view him primarily as a low-post scorer or offensive rebounder," b&-but he's shown proficiency running pick-and-rolls."
